Senior partner celebrates 35 years at Aldridge Brownlee LLP

Andrew Pitt obtained a law degree at Jesus College Oxford and began his career with Aldridge Brownlee in 1975 as an articled clerk qualifying as a solicitor in 1979.
As soon as he qualified, Andrew began specialising in criminal law, dividing his time at between the police station and the courts where he appeared daily as a defence advocate, especially speaking for young people in the juvenile courts.
He was brought into partnership in the firm merely four years after qualifying in 1983 and progressed to senior partner in 2008. Nowadays he specialises in child-care work.
In addition to being senior partner of Aldridge Brownlee LLP Solicitors, he has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel since its instigation and has actively supported several local charities over the years.
Andrew is married to Karen who also works with Aldridge Brownlee. They have four daughters and celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Even more amazing is that they share an office and still get on well together!
In his spare time Andrew manages and plays bass in Swing Unlimited Big Band as well as being a member of Rick Rock & the Rowdies, one of Bournemouth's foremost charity groups in which he plays with Karen and his former senior partner Richard Whitham, whose nickname "Rick Rock" gave the title to the band.
He said:
“The last 35 years have been truly rewarding and even though the legal profession can be demanding and often serious, I have had some great experiences and have enjoyed working with many good and gifted people.”
