Assistant Deputy Coroner Appointed

Aldridge Brownlee Solicitors LLP Criminal Defence Solicitor, Brendan Allen, has been appointed Assistant Deputy Coroner for East Dorset.
The position is in addition to his practice at Aldridge Brownlee, and as Assistant Deputy, Brendan will provide cover for the coroner when he is away or is unavailable, and assist him in his duties. These include investigating and adjudicating on sudden or unexplained deaths, or any death that the registrar is unable to register; inquiring if a body is to be removed from England and Wales, and to inquire into treasure.
Brendan will also be responsible, in the coroner’s absence, for taking the decision as to whether a post mortem is required, and opening and conducting inquests from time to time.
