Divorce and Separation

Divorce. We can advise you as to whether you would be able to issue divorce proceedings and whether it would be in your best interests to do so. We can also explain the procedure on divorce and the time scales.
Separation. If you do not wish to issue divorce proceedings but want to live apart from your partner, we can advise you on the best way to achieve this and prepare a separation agreement.
Financial matters. On separation or divorce advice is often needed as to how the matrimonial assets should be divided and what factors a Court would take into account. We can guide you through this process and advise you on what forms should be completed.

How will I finance the proceedings? We have a public funding franchise and would therefore be able to advise you as to whether you would qualify for any form of public funding, or alternatively if you are not financially eligible, we would provide you with full details of our private charging rates and give an estimate of what costs are likely to be incurred in your particular case.

Free Initial Interviews
Aldridge Brownlee LLP’s Family Department will be offering initial half hour interviews to provide advice on any family problems.
Alternatively, if you require more detailed advice, we offer fixed fee one hour interviews. Please, contact us for prices.
If possible before the meeting please complete the Client Information Form to provide some basic information. You will also need to provide proof of your ID. Please, ask when booking the appointment for a list of the accepted forms of evidence of identity and evidence of address.
